Our Organic Nettle Root 10:1 Extract is a natural supplement that comes in a bottle of 60 capsules, with each capsule containing 500mg of concentrated stinging nettle root extract. It is made from organically grown nettles and is highly potent, with a strength of 4:1, meaning that 500mg of the extract is equivalent to 2000mg of ordinary dried nettle root.
These capsules offer a convenient and effective way to supplement with nettle root, providing the potential health benefits associated with amino acids and beta-sitosterol including:
Key benefits
Nettle root may reduce symptoms of an enlarged prostate by regulating hormones and reducing inflammation. It contains compounds that inhibit the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and has anti-inflammatory properties to reduce prostate inflammation and improve overall prostate health.

With its rich profile of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, nettle root supports the immune system. It also provides vitamins and minerals, such as vitamins A, C, and K, iron, and calcium, which support the immune system and overall health.

Nettle root contains beta-sitosterol and lignans which can promote hair growth and reduce hair loss by inhibiting DHT production and reducing hormones that cause hair loss. Nettle Root also contains silica which helps strengthen existing hair.
Nettle root is beneficial for cardiovascular health as it can regulate blood pressure, reduce inflammation and improve blood lipid levels. It contains compounds that dilate blood vessels, reduce total cholesterol levels and triglycerides, and increase HDL cholesterol. By reducing inflammation in the cardiovascular system, nettle root can help to support cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of heart disease and other conditions.
Nettle root contains anti-inflammatory compounds like beta-sitosterol and scopoletin, which can help reduce joint pain and stiffness associated with conditions like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It also has analgesic properties that can relieve pain by blocking pain signals from the joints to the brain.
Nettle root contains potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds that are beneficial for skin health and appearance. It contains quercetin, a potent antioxidant that protects skin from damage, and compounds that soothe and hydrate skin, improve circulation and promote skin health.
Nettle root contains beta-sitosterol, a phytosterol that improves energy by competing with cholesterol for gut absorption. It also regulates hormones and provides essential minerals for energy production. Regular use of nettle root can boost energy, reduce fatigue, and improve physical and mental performance.
Nettle root improves digestion by reducing gut inflammation, regulating the digestive system and improving nutrient absorption. It contains anti-inflammatory compounds, beta-sitosterol, which improves fatty acid absorption, and natural fibre. Regular use can help improve gut health, reduce digestive symptoms, and support the digestive system as a whole.
Nettle root relieves allergy symptoms, including hayfever, by blocking histamine release and reducing inflammation. It contains antihistamine and anti-inflammatory compounds.
Nettle root contains compounds that support gut health and nutrient absorption. These include polysaccharides, lignans, and phenolic acids, which support digestive enzymes, support hormone balance, and reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in the gut. This leads to better breakdown and absorption of nutrients, making nettle root a potential aid for nutrient absorption.
Nettle root has compounds that help reduce menopausal symptoms like hot flashes and mood swings. Lignans can bind to estrogen receptors which can help regulate hormones. Phytoestrogens not only have a similar chemical structure to estrogen but also mimic its effect on the body by providing mild estrogen-like activity which helps reduce symptoms.
Compounds like silica, calcium, magnesium, and phenolic acids support bone health. Silica helps form collagen, calcium and magnesium maintain bone density and strength, while phenolic acids have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, protecting bones from oxidative stress and age-related deterioration.

Product FAQs
Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and play crucial roles in various physiological processes, including metabolism, hormone regulation, and neurotransmitter synthesis, and are essential components of a healthy diet.
There are two types of amino acids, essential and non-essential.
Essential amino acids are those that the body cannot produce on its own and must be obtained from diet. There are nine essential amino acids, and they are involved in many important physiological processes, including the formation of proteins, the regulation of metabolism, and the maintenance of a healthy immune system.
On the other hand, non-essential amino acids are those that the body can produce on its own from other nutrients. While these amino acids are not considered essential, they still play important roles in the body, including serving as precursors for neurotransmitters, contributing to energy production, and helping to regulate various physiological processes.
In conclusion, both essential and non-essential amino acids are important for overall health and well-being, but essential amino acids are considered more critical because they must be obtained from the diet and cannot be produced by the body.
Nettle root extract is known to contain a variety of essential and non-essential amino acids, including Arginine, Aspartic Acid, Histidine, Glutamic Acid, Glycine, Proline, Serine, and Tyrosine.
Argenine
Arginine has been shown to have a range of potential health benefits, including improved cardiovascular function, enhanced immune system response, increased wound healing, reduced symptoms of erectile dysfunction, and improved athletic performance.
Aspartic Acid
Aspartic acid plays a role in various physiological processes, including energy production, neurotransmitter synthesis, and detoxification, and has been linked to potential benefits such as improved athletic performance, reduced fatigue, and enhanced immune function
Histidine
Histidine is involved in several important physiological processes, including the maintenance of a healthy immune system, the regulation of blood sugar levels, and the production of haemoglobin, and has been associated with potential benefits such as improved cognitive function, reduced inflammation, and enhanced wound healing.
Glutamic acid
Also known as glutamate, it is a non-essential amino acid that serves as a neurotransmitter and plays a crucial role in several physiological processes, including energy production, metabolism, and the regulation of brain function, and has been linked to potential benefits such as improved cognitive function, reduced anxiety, and enhanced muscle recovery.
Glycine
Glycine is a non-essential amino acid that has been linked to several potential health benefits, including improved sleep quality, reduced muscle fatigue, improved skin health, enhanced immune function, and improved cognitive function, among others.
Proline
Proline is a non-essential amino acid that plays an important role in the formation and maintenance of healthy skin, connective tissues, and joints, and has been associated with potential benefits such as reduced symptoms of joint pain, improved wound healing, and enhanced skin elasticity.
Sirene
Serine is a non-essential amino acid that is involved in several important physiological processes, including the synthesis of phospholipids and neurotransmitters, and has been linked to potential benefits such as improved cognitive function, reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression, enhanced immune response, and improved wound healing.
Tyrosine
Tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid that is involved in the production of several neurotransmitters, including dopamine and norepinephrine, and has been associated with potential benefits such as improved mood, increased mental alertness, enhanced memory and cognitive function, and reduced symptoms of stress and anxiety.
Beta-sitosterol is a plant-based phytosterol that is found in many plant-based foods, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. Beta-sitosterol has been extensively studied for its potential health benefits, particularly in the areas of cardiovascular health and prostate health. Some studies have suggested that beta-sitosterol may help to lower cholesterol levels, improve cardiovascular function, and reduce the symptoms of an enlarged prostate. Additionally, beta-sitosterol may have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, which may further support its potential health benefits.
We found the lemon balm extract too sticky to encapsulate on it's own, so we needed to add a drier powder to help. We could have added flour, or alfalfa which is commonly added as a bulking agent but we wanted to keep our product as pure as could be so we added a small amount of dry lemon balm powder instead.
Organic Tapioca Maltodextrin and Colloidal anhydrous silica is not something we add ourselves, it is added during the manufacture of the nettle root extract powder itself. This is because nettle root undergos a liquid form of extraction and the final result is a liquid. In order to encapsulate the nettle root extract as a powder it needs to be dehydrated using a special method known as 'spray drying'. For this process a drying agent is a required - this is where the maltodextrin and colloidal anhydrous silica come in - it is required as a drying agent, but it also helps maintain the bioactivity of the rosmarinic acid and other polyphenols for long-term storage. All encapsulated herbal extracts on the market will contain a drying agent of some sort either maltodextrin, inulin, flour or other substances. It is impossible to turn nettle root extract from a liquid to a powder without one. These drying agents are typically not required to be declared on packaging as they are considered to be part of the stinging nettle root extract ingredient itself, that's why many products don't list what drying agent has been used. However, as we are Certified Organic by the Soil Association we are required to show complete transparency and list all ingredients that go in our products hence we declare that there is tapioca maltodextrin and colloidal anhydrous silica in our product.
Our nettle root extract capsules contain a 4:1 nettle root extract. This means that the strength of the extract is 4 times stronger than regular nettle root powder. We've taken 2000mg of nettle roots and concnetrated them four times which allows us to pack them into a single 500mg dose.
